Position Summary | A postdoctoral position in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department at UNMC is currently available. This position will involve brain metastasis of breast and lung cancers. The potential candidate is expected to perform various molecular biology, cell and tissue culture techniques, generation of lung and breast cancer mouse models, and analysis of biomarkers in serum and tissues derived from lung and breast cancer patients. He will also test novel combination therapies for the prevention of brain metastasis. He will also be responsible for applying immunoncological techniques to understand tumor microenvironment, discover novel targets, and develop therapeutic strategies for targeting aggressive brain metastatic cancers, including breast, non-small, and small cell lung cancers. Additionally, he will be responsible for studying alteration of immunometabolism in primary (lung and breast cancers) and their brain metastatic cell lines, as well as patient-derived tissues and patient-derived xenografts. |

Required Qualifications | A postdoc applicant should have a PhD and prior experience in lung cancer and metastatic models and techniques, such as molecular biology, cell culture, biomarker analysis, immunoncology, immunometabolism, and therapeutics in cancer. |
Supplemental Qualifications | He/she should have research experience and a strong background in cancer biology, biomarker, immunometabolism, and cancer therapeutics. A candidate should have the ability to work on spontaneous mouse models and to perform intracardiac injections on mice to develop experimental brain metastasis. A candidate should have publications in peer-reviewed journals. |
