The Director of Enterprise Technology & Operations sets the strategic direction for enterprise infrastructure, platforms, and operational services across Nebraska Medicine and UNMC. This role oversees multiple teams and functions, ensuring alignment of IT strategy with organizational goals for patient care, education, and research. Owns the vision, reliability, and lifecycle of core technology services--including data centers, servers, networking, cloud, telecom, and NOC/SOC operations--managing portfolios and investments to deliver secure, resilient, and scalable solutions. Acting as an enterprise leader, this position influences senior leadership and executives to drive innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement in technology delivery.
Required Qualifications: Director Enterprise Technology & Operations
* Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in Enterprise Technology engineering, including large, complex, multi-site environments required.
* Minimum of 5 years leading technical teams with 24x7 operational accountability required.
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience required.
* Hands-on expertise with enterprise technology and operations required.
* Demonstrated mastery of ITIL processes (incident, change, problem) and service reporting required.
* Strong vendor management and budgeting experience required.
Preferred Qualifications: Director Enterprise Technology & Operations
* Healthcare delivery organization, & higher education/research experience and familiarity with clinical communications preferred.
* AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP) or equivalent, ITIL, PMP preferred.
* Experience in leading large-scale infrastructure modernization projects, including cloud migration and hybrid architecture preferred.
* Operational leadership of NOC/SOC functions, ensuring high availability and incident response preferred.
* Vendor and contract negotiation experience, including managed services and strategic partnerships preferred.
